Can someone explain how Simcad will show me how many fork trucks I need in my facility?

Bill, With Simcad Pro, you can easily change the number of fork trucks in your facility and analyze the effects. You are able to see how the different number of fork trucks impact your overall process and which amount of fork trucks is most efficient for your factory.  Simcad Pro allows users to perform "what-if" scenarios to virtually modify the manufacturing operation (change staffing levels, equipment quantity, capacities, timings, etc...) and immediately view the effects of the changes on the system as a whole.Simcad Pro allows user to make changes "on-the-fly" while the simulation is still running, reducing the amount of time required to do analysis and come up with the best solutions to problems. Advantages and Capabilities of Simcad Pro Equipment Feasibility with Bottlenecks and Constraint Analysis - Automatic Bottleneck identification including detailed reporting on constraints and contributing factors - Analyze the effect of changing equipment (type and quantity) and new technologies including automation - Integrated costing analysis, scenario analysis, and dynamic KPI / Metric reporting tools

Bill, Simcad Pro will also automatically calculate the utilization of your resources (in this case fork trucks) based on the resource's working time as a percentage of total simulation time. If you see that fork truck utilization is getting very high, that will be a cue to add more fork trucks because you're getting near maximum capacity. You can then analyze how the additional fork truck(s) affect the total system.  In reverse, if you notice that your fork truck utilization is low, that's an easy cue that you may want to remove a fork truck, and then see how that affects the system as a whole.
