Does Simcad simulation software apply lean manufacturing principles that could reduce my raw material and WIP inventory by 20%?

Yes, Simcad Pro Dynamic Simulation Software does implement lean manufacturing tools that will help with reducing inventory.

Simcad Pro Advantages and Capabilities:

- Automatically generated dynamic value stream mapping and detailed lean analysis - Integrated LEAN/TQM/Six Sigma Tools including Dynamic Value Stream Mapping provides kanban sizing, reorder triggers, line balancing, inventory optimization, safety stock levels and more - Load leveling, Kaizan effects, and kanban optimization Dynamic simulation allows the user to interact with the virtual environment and test, "on-the-fly," any and all changes to layouts, processes, people, equipment, automation implementations, schedules, inventory options, sequencing patterns and virtually any change you can think of that may have a positive impact on the operation without the risk and cost of testing changes in a live environment. Dynamic Simulation allows the user the flexibility to view changes in real-time, saving time and money. Proactive forecasting of future events allows user the freedom to experiment with different scenarios, promoting proactive and economically advantageous decision-making. Dynamic simulation instantly provides, through integrated reporting and scenario analysis, feedback on efficiency gains at the point of attack, as well as how the change propagates throughout the system. Simcad allows users to strategize how the operation will ramp up or down based on changes in demand, react to disruptions in supply - both planned and unplanned - and how changes in the product mix will impact the operation as a whole. Additionally, dynamic simulation benefits the user in terms of allowing for a multitude of changes to the system in a virtual environment where the user does not have the extensive costs associated with trial and error or the time-consuming process of utilizing excel sheets, for example. Dynamic simulation allows the user to check and set optimal schedules, get live updates for increased control on productivity, as well as play out "what-if" scenarios to optimize resources, equipment, schedules and production.

Has simulation helped any of your clients improve their manufacturing operations? Do you have any case studies or examples that I can view?

Molded Fiber Glass Companies used Simcad Pro Process Simulator to model the current state of one of their composite's manufacturing plants. The model required tracking of multiple variables including cycle times, labor costs, and manpower utilization. The simulation goal was to detect and identify bottlenecks as well as reduce overall production costs. Using Simcad Pro's graphical interface, MFG built the model representation of the manufacturing line then added manpower allocation and cost detail. The main aspect of the model was the ability to handle multiple product mixes and to analyze the effects of different product flow and changeover times. Using Simcad Pro's powerful analysis, reporting, and animation tools, MFG was able to run analysis on the line and detect bottlenecks and potential efficiency improvements. Armed with the analysis results, MFG performed line change analysis and came up with a solution that saved "One man hour" per part. In addition, the new process flow maintained current production rates while decreasing the number of manpower required at the plant.

Simcad Pro has helped process-oriented users maximize productivity and control costs across every industry including manufacturing, automation, banking, and healthcare. Created by efficiency engineering experts, Simcad Pro makes a small but powerful replica of a business that behaves like a real-world model. Combining advanced data analysis, virtual modeling, Value Stream Mapping and the best in simulation technology, Simcad Pro delivers detailed statistical results of every operation within the model. And while traditional process simulation software focuses on the plant floor, Simcad Pro can be scaled to improve efficiencies in every part of the enterprise. An open architecture and intuitive user interface make Simcad Pro the ideal process re-engineering and optimization tool.
