Many traditional simulation vendors have begun describing their solution as "dynamic" in the sense that the simulation takes into account system variability over time. Oddly this is what simulation has always done. Vendors have decided to "rebrand" and hope you don't notice they are still selling the same old technology with a different spin. So that leaves the question, What is dynamic simulation? Dynamic simulation as patented by CreateASoft certainly takes into account system variability over time. However, Simcad's dynamic simulation environment provides out-of-the-box capability of real time interaction from the user and external data sources (RFID, GPS, ERP/MRP, EHR/EMR, Barcode, Web interface inputs, and others). With Simcad’s patented technology users and external systems can dynamically (in realtime, while the simulation is running), modify the model flow and constraints hence providing a truly dynamic environment that changes based on data input that has yet to occur. Traditional simulation software will certainly connect to a data source as long as you can code the connections and rules. This connection is performed once, maybe twice. Once at the beginning of the run and potentially at the end of the run. Rendering their claims of dynamic simulation 100% off base from what a truly dynamic solution provides in terms of flexibility, ease of use, visibility, alerts/notifications, and forecasting. Look beyond the marketing spin and step up to the future of dynamic simulation with Simcad Pro and SimTrack. Edited by moderator Tuesday, June 16, 2015 11:10:26 AM(UTC)
