We've had many inquiries on posts on the Flexsim forum on the modeling power, flexibility, and ease of use of Simcad Pro. As a Simcad Pro user, this is a call to post your experiences on how Simcad Pro helped you achieve your simulation goals dynamically. The following are some of the key items discussed in the posts

- Ability to build Simulation models without coding - Simcad Pro has an extensive set of built in tools driven by industry requests. From the internal base modules to the provided templates, getting a warehouse implemented with picking, receiving, and put away, along with different rack structures can be built without coding. In addition, conveyors, spacing, and dynamic conveyor capacities are all built in functions within Simcad Pro.

 - Coding, in VB Scripting, is used to customize specific behavior and is used only to define the exception. For example, a large warehouse implementation with complex conveyor merge logic may require 5 lines of VB Scripting. The rest of the model behavior is done without coding, using the built in functionality of Simcad Pro. In contrast, Flexsim would require you to write extensive C++ code in order to build any meaningful model.

 - Built in analysis - Simcad Pro is the only tool on the market today that precomputes all the desired metrics and makes them available to the user with simple selections. Reports and analysis from Dynamic Value Stream mapping, spaghetti diagram, resource touches, value added time, travel distances, utilization, OEE, and rates are automatically created. There are more than 50 different parameters dynamically tracked for each entity within a Simcad Pro model. In addition, custom parameters can be easily added for additional reporting.

- 3D capabilities - Simcad Pro includes a built in 3D animation and visualization engine that is integrated with the simulation environment. All animations are dynamically scaled in time based on each process speed. Conveyors and internal movements are dynamically generated. In addition, our 3D animator tools allows for in process animation, people motion, detailed views, and elevations.

- Most importantly, Data connectivity. There is no limit to the number SKUs, rack locations, inventory tracking, and paths that can be imported into a Simcad Pro model. In addition, time studies can be collected though SimData and dynamically imported (with full distribution fitting) into the model with a single click.

Simcad Pro Price - Simcad Pro Elite, with all features, modules, templates, and FREE Support cost is available on our online store. For more information on Simcad Pro capabilities, click here

I went and checked the post and it seems to me that the commenter has no actual experience with Simcad. I've attended both Flexsim (in my previous job) and Simcad (at my current employer) training classes and can say that modeling in Simcad is much easier than with Flexsim. With Simcad we completed 90% of the model ( 300,000 sq ft warehouse) in a three day training class, including 3D. With Flexsim, we were sold on software that was supposed to be easy and require no code. This was not the case. Modeling full picking sequences, detailed order assembly, and truck arrival based on WMS data did require scripting and customization. This behavior was however implemented in Simcad using the built-in interfaces to connect to WMS data and drive pick sequences and truck arrival using existing data. As the training class progressed it was clear that there was no comparison between the two applications. Their graphics are pretty but you can find just as good if not better visualization solutions for cheaper if you're interested in animations instead of simulation.
